Florian Wagner

I’m building nowa, a breathing app without streaks or counters, and I write this blog. My day job, for more than 15 years now, is project management and business development in IT.

Why nowa

My job comes with a lot of different responsibilities, and I’m reachable pretty much around the clock. At some point I realized I needed something to balance that out. Music helps, and so does sports, but I still often felt stressed and restless, as if something was missing.

My friends and the people close to me felt the same way. All the pressure to perform and the constant digital noise can overload your system. That’s why I think a counterbalance belongs in everyday life, alongside good food, movement, time with people you care about, and fresh air.

I wasn’t really happy with the apps I tried. So I put my IT know-how and my own needs into nowa. I want to share it and keep improving it, with the features people actually need, and I’m happy to put in more time so it feels good to use. In the end, what matters to me is a happy, balanced life. If nowa can contribute a little to that, I’m more than satisfied.

What I am and what I’m not

I’m a project manager and business developer in IT, not a doctor or a breathing therapist, and I build nowa on my own, alongside my day job. That’s why every claim on this blog is backed by a source that has been checked in the original, and why the articles say so when the research is thin.

How the articles are made

AI helps with research and first drafts. Every study is checked in the original, and I read every text before I approve it. The details, and the limits, are on the page How I work.
